TheMay Center School for Autism and Developmental DisabilitiesinRandolph, MAis looking for aRelief Registered Nurse (RN/ LPN)to become part of a multi-disciplinary team in a supportive school environment with autistic students. The focus of daily care will be working with the students and staff in our school program.

Our May Center Schools for Autism and Developmental Disabilities offer full-day, year-round educational services to children and adolescents. Focusing on building communication, social, behavioral, vocational, and academic skills.We base our programs on applied behavior analysis, or ABA, which has been shown through hundreds of scientific studies to be the most effective method to teach children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities.

This opportunity is for a nurse who is available to work on weekends and holidays, with the opportunity to pick up mid-week shifts if available. We are hiring for per-diem nurses to be on call. As arelief RN, you are required to work a minimum of 1 weekend shift per month to maintain per-diemstatus with May Institute.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide health assessments/first aid for ill or injured students and staff
  • Administer medications
  • Provide health education to staff and oversee workers comp for injured staff
  • Maintain student and staff records
  • Oversee health care of students attending special education school
  • Travel to residential group homes, pharmacy's, field trips, etc.
  • On-call, weekend and holiday rotation
  • Independent nursing judgement
  • Triage

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license
  • 1-year minimum related work experience.
  • Previous medication administration teaching experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pediatric and/or young adult experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adept with email and word processing programs.
