Job Description
At FCA, we are applying scaled Agile methodology and practices in embedded vehicle software development and are looking for self-starting and energetic individuals experienced with large-scale Agile deployment, for the role of the AutoScrum Coordinator (AC), which is comparable to an Agile Release Train Engineer (RTE). The AutoScrum Coordinator (AC) is a servant-leader and coach for the Program (similar to an Agile Release Train), operating at the Scrum of Scrums level, in AutoScrum scaled-Agile methodology, charged with clearing program level impediments and risks, and finding and maintaining the right resources. The AutoScrum Coordinator manages program/platform-level Agile ceremonies and processes, assisting the programs/platforms in achieving their commitments by building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised, with an emphasis on problem-solving. The AC will facilitate the Program events, release planning, consistent processes improvement, driving ongoing efficiencies, issue and risk management, management escalation and working with other ACs across Programs. AC's are accountable for ensuring transparency about the Program's delivery, risks and accomplishments. The Responsibilities include:
Planning & Facilitation:
  • Support preparation for and facilitation of Program meetings and processes, including Agile ceremonies and release planning activities; Facilitate PI Planning readiness via fostering the preparation of Backlogs and via Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
  • Establishes Program Increments calendar. Plans and facilitates the Program Increment planning event. Aggregates team objectives into Program PI Objectives and publishes for visibility and transparency
  • Collaborates with other AutoScrum Coordinators for resolving prioritization, conflicts and synchronization
  • Collaborates with impacted cross functional legacy teams not following Agile frameworks, with partners external to the team, including vendor partners and other Scrum teams for delivering, resolving prioritization, conflicts and synchronization and to engage them with PI planning and align release cycle with program priority
  • Provides direction to the Program handling all aspects of program planning, communications, issue resolution, and reporting
Coaching:
  • Coach teams and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and thinking
  • Support Agile coaching activities across program Teams to elevate the application of the Lean-Agile Scaling Framework
  • Utilizes feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and partners with others to coach the program to continuously improve
Reporting:
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Program using various tools, such as the Program Board, Kanban Boards and score cards
  • Track and report on progress of capabilities, features, stories using appropriate tools (RTC, etc.)
  • Report planning results and Program status to senior management, business owners, feature owners, product owners, and other partners
Process Improvements:
  • Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the Program, department and/or business unit
  • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile methodologies
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), or other scaling model
  • Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or RTE certification or Scrum Master certification
  • Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as IBM RTC, Jira
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Familiarity, preferable working experience, with process improvement and related industry standard process framework models (ASPICE, ISO 26262)
  • Record of successful and measurable process/performance improvement initiatives
  • Experience with software product development teams, preferably in the Automotive or similar industry area
