Job Title: Mechanical Inspector
Department: Inspection
Reports To: QC Manager
Job Code: 512
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspect and measure castings and machined parts to ensure conformity to prints and specifications. Calibrate and maintain gages and equipment. Compile inspection reports as required. Work with groups as required to improve quality and continuous improvement. Perform product containments. Attend MRB meetings. Support other departments as needed.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, geometry and trigonometry, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs Read blueprints.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Basic skills, Microsoft excel, Microsoft word
Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of CMBIS/PLUS and (ASQ) American Society of Quality Qualification/Plus
Other Qualifications: Must have knowledge of and ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gage, thread gages, bore gages, optical compactor, CMM machines & etc. Must be willing to expand (BOK) Body of Knowledge in profession.
