Our Civil Engineers are responsible for the design of foundations for structures and equipment for generation, transmission and distribution substations. These Power Gridders are responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Apply standard structural codes and techniques for substation project work with a focus on foundations and steel design.
  • Structure and foundation design will include analysis and design of new or expansion of substation facilities as well as the evaluation of existing facilities. The candidate should be familiar with using commercially available software such as L-Pile, RISA 3-D, and PCA Mats Concrete Design.
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing steel construction specifications for substation packagers and reviewing structural calculations to confirm they are in conformance with specifications.
  • In addition to the structural engineering responsibilities, the candidate will also assist other team members in substation engineering functions.
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers.
  • Develop, nurture, and maintain trusted relationship with senior level engineers, managers, and executives with current and prospective clients.
  • Confidently present technical solutions to key customers. Provide responses in real time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable articulate manner.
  • Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
  • Perform/Ensure company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are been follow on all design packages.
  • Delegate, plan, prioritize and review the work of other engineers.
  • Provide Project Management functions for projects
  • Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members, engineering technicians and drafters. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel
