JOB TITLE:
Assistant Librarian - Learning & Engagement Librarian
JOB PURPOSE:
The University of Wyoming Libraries invites applications for a Learning & Engagement Librarian in the Education & Research Services division. The Learning & Engagement Librarian serves as the Libraries' primary contact for information literacy instruction and outreach during the first-year experience and works collaboratively with other librarians and with teaching faculty to develop services and strategies to actively engage with students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teach research and information literacy skills to undergraduate students in support of UW's general education curriculum
  • Participate in library instructional initiatives and research help services as a member of the Research & Instruction team
  • Lead library instruction, student engagement programs, and outreach activities for first-year college students
  • Develop learning resources such as research guides, instructional video, and online tutorials to support asynchronous learning.
  • Partner with university academic support units and disciplines in support of teaching and learning
  • Serve as a liaison to one or more departments or colleges
  • Provide support for adoption and development of Open Educational Resources

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with librarians, faculty, and staff
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and concepts both independently and in team settings
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience providing instruction, research consultation services, and/or workshops in an academic library
