(Background in comedy a HUGE plus!)The Marketing Manager will assist in planning, development and implementation of marketing strategies and communications for our newest venue, The Milwaukee Improv. The Marketing Manager will develop community relationships and strategic partnerships to further the venue's reputation as an industry leader in the entertainment space. The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills and a genuine passion for live comedy. This is a dual role as the Marketing Manager/Event Sales Manager. The Event Sales Manager is responsible to book and organize specials events at the Improv. The ideal candidate can turn event inquiries into booked events and will define the guest experience at the Improv. The Event Sales Manager works closely with the Operations team to ensure the events are properly executed to maximize the guest satisfaction and experience. Assemble and manage ongoing marketing plans in collaboration with talent management, talent booking and venue operations teams. Negotiate traditional media buys including radio, print, and digital; leverage on-air mentions, contests and ticket giveaways to increase event attendance and drive brand awareness. Develop email newsletters and drip campaigns with flawless copy, creative subject lines, and clear CTAs; pull segmented lists, build templates and manage subscriber databases. Create custom content to update social channels daily with relevant news, onsite nightly coverage and promotions. Utilize scheduling tools and editing apps to ensure posts are on-brand and aesthetically intriguing to fans and followers. Proof all public communications for grammar, spelling and brand consistency prior to launch. Pre-plan and clearly communicate creative needs to the graphic design team for digital assets, social media assets, billboards, marquees, and in-venue signage. Monitor monthly budget and track all advertising spends using reporting tools and KPI benchmarks. Perform ongoing analysis of data trends, refining tactics to increase attendance and consumer loyalty. Establish grassroots relationships with local community groups, tourism partners, and non-profits. Coordinate artist availability for press opportunities. Prospect and make sales calls to broaden client base and penetrate new markets. Respond to all event inquiries and convert inquiries into booked events and consistently meet or exceed individual monthly sales goal. Implement and execute lead generating strategies. Identify and pursue target markets by monitoring restaurant or club and community demographics. Clearly communicate to prospective clients the features and benefits of the Improv venue and event packages. Work with clients to plan and coordinate details of events and manage the client relationship throughout the event planning process and beyond. Investigate and resolve any event customer problems.Generation of proposals and special events orders.Lead contract negotiations and generate finalized contracts.Create and maintain post event correspondence.Clear understanding of all operational department responsibilities, capabilities and limitations, to smoothly ensure maximum guest satisfaction, event execution and operational communication.Prepares weekly sales reporting and forecasting for managementRequirements Minimum 3 years in a marketing, social media, live events, or related entertainment industry role. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint/Excel/Word, Google AdWords, SEO and CRM platforms. Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs. Comfortable working in fast-paced environment. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Strong writing skills: flawless spelling, grammar, and punctuation; attention to detail. Minimum 2+ years of experience in Restaurant/Club environment. Must have the flexibility to work and travel nights, weekends and holidays to coordinate events and promotions to assist with facilitating events onsite, handles last minute requests and changes, and ensures group events take place as contracted. Adaptable in fast paced environment and work well with others. Friendly, outgoing and possess excellent communications skills. Must be 21 years of age or older. Proven track record of sales success. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, forecasting, and sales activities. Strong analytical and math skills that translate when reviewing P's utilized in the food and beverage industry.
