- Designing and developing high-tolerance, thin wall, high volume components for injection molding, perform FEA and mold flow analysis using MoldFlow (Moldex3D) software tools to optimize part design
- Solving challenging issues for components molded from engineered materials for precise instruments
- Evaluating materials and alternative processes for potential new applications in the Life Science market
- Working with suppliers, consultants and the Rainin operations team to develop new solutions
- Optimizing component production and molding efficiency for new components
- The ability to work with shop level and executive personnel.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, and/or systems engineering (or closely related area) and 7 years of experience in a related industry such as precision lab-grade consumables or products; alternatively 5 years of experience with a master's degree
- Demonstrated experience with design and development of high volume, high tolerance Injection molded parts
- Strong understanding and knowledge of engineering polymers
- Proven track record of driving projects to successful completion
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
