Job Title: Shipping Coordinator: Hazmat Reports To: Supply Chain Manager Schedule: 7:00AM-5:30PM Monday through Thursday Firetrace is a $25M revenue business that designs and assembles fire suppression systems in our 50,000 sq. ft. HQ facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. Currently the business employs 70 people; all functions are based in Scottdale, except for the sales team, which is spread throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa and Southeast Asia. Firetrace has been part of Halma plc (LSE: HLMA) since 2015 and has ambitious growth plans. We currently have an opening for a strong Shipping Coordinator to join the organization.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Coordinate complex domestic and international shipping challenges, and help others learn these skills
Works together with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery to customers’ specifications and accurate receipt of goods.
Prepares shipments and determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
Creates accurate export paperwork.
Maintain department databases, accurately update ERP system, prepare routine reports, and scan/file shipping records.
Participate in Kaizen events and present ideas for continuous improvement
Willing to perform other duties as assigned or needed by the team.
Follows established Company and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives.
Always Maintains Safety Standards.
Skills and experience needed for success in this role:
Proven ability to meet deadlines and effective teamwork with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Willingness to share knowledge and to learn from others
Must be detail oriented, even with multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Must have or be able to obtain certification in IATA Dangerous Goods shipping, and DOT Hazardous Materials Shipping
Proven track record of handling complex domestic and international shipping challenges
Expertise in Hazardous Materials Regulations
Export Compliance experience a plus
Strong understanding of ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics), Microsoft Office products
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, or sit for long periods; periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs. safely.
Must be able to become forklift certified.
Ability to operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment such as a pallet shrink-wrap machine.
