Job Description

Status: Contingent

Position Summary

The SME performs technical studies and analyses, document reviews, and budgetary reviews related to SIGINT, GEOINT, ISR systems, architectures, and requirements related to Battlespace Awareness and Security. The SME shall provide expert staff packages, conduct analysis, and provide advice and recommendations to facilitate government direction, policy guidance, acquisition oversight and programmatic recommendations, for ISR programs supporting the DoD and the Intelligence Community (IC). The SME shall also support interaction with Congress including assisting in the drafting of testimony, drafting of responses to Congressionally directed actions, and drafting appeals to related Congressional budget marks.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding of the Requirements Process (JCIDS), PPBES, and DoD Acquisition Process
  • Functional requirements analysis and development of Space/ISR requirements
  • Deep knowledge of Space/ISR Systems and Capabilities
  • Capable of process re-engineering for Space/ISR systems and PED processes
  • Examination of science and technology impacts
  • Quick-turn technical analyses of Space/ISR capabilities using modeling and simulation
  • Expert in technical analysis of Space/ISR system performance and simulation
  • Understanding of operational requirements and plans
  • Analysis of operational needs and gaps
  • Cost-benefit analysis of the BA Portfolio
  • Strategic planning for Space/ISR capability acquisition

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Science or Engineering
  • Ten Years with a minimum of 5 in Space ISR for OSD, ODNI, or Joint Staff Skills
  • DAWIA Level II or equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Clearance Required: Applicants selected will be subject to a security clearance check and/or a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Physical Requirements / Travel

  • Normal office environment
  • 20% travel expected
