POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Manager, Events and Experiences will be responsible for (i) building community engagement through activations with retailer partners and developing external partnerships and (ii) driving budgeted revenues through events and activations. The Manager, Events and Experiences will report to the head of Event Venues and will work closely with Marketing to ensure programming aligns with the Union Market brand and to maximize reach and impact of all programming.

Examples of the role responsibilities are:

  • Develop programming ideas that will drive retailer productivity, community engagement and revenues to The Market and La Cosecha, including event conception, planning, project management, production and execution
  • Produce events with retail partners and external partners to include responsibility to create and oversee run of show, confirm marketing plan in place and implemented on timeline, coordination with internal operational team and third-party vendors, client management, and all other aspects of the logistics to execute the event successfully (which in many cases will be coordination of the client's operational or vendor teams to ensure best-in-class operation)
  • Create and continually maintain a 12-month forward-looking programming and activations calendar with milestones and regular measurements of success
  • Work closely with VP of Retail Operations to set and achieve revenue goals for both assets
  • Develop and execute marketing plans with Marketing team to ensure maximum reach and impact of programs/events
  • Work in partnership with marketing team to develop assets for promotion, PR and social media, and email campaigns
  • Track metrics of trips, dwell time, direct revenues, impact to retail partner revenues and provide weekly reporting of return on investment
  • Management of event vendors and direction of internal operations teams around event execution
  • Manage budgets and project timelines for events
  • Lead and execute on sponsorship / fundraising for events
  • Forge relationships with external parties to identify and sponsor partners to participate and underwrite activations while amplifying the impact of events

      • DJ Booth

      • Film & Sports activations
      • Language programs
      • Embassy relationships & on-site activations
      • Strategic partner relationships & on-site activations (i.e. Carols Rosario School, Inter-American Development Bank)
      • Festivals & celebrations (i.e. Hispanic Heritage Month)
    • The Market
      • Union Market Drive-In
      • Neal Place private/reserved dinners
      • Retail Partner collaborations
      • Live music on Neal Place
    • The Rooftop at Union Market (in coordination with rooftop operator)
      • Music performances
      • Fitness classes
      • Games (i.e. corn hole league, bongo night, putt putt)
      • Movie nights
      • Seasonal activations

The successful candidate will:

  • Have minimum of 5 years' experience in events and/or marketing activations with clear understanding and ability to develop and execute an activation from start to finish
  • Have experience with developing social media marketing strategy and execution
  • Have experience with sourcing prospects and cultivating sponsor relationships
  • Be fluent in Spanish
  • Help in any area of The Market and La Cosecha when circumstances dictate
  • Have strong focus on the community/customer and client/partner experience, visible to and interacting with partners on a daily basis, and be a driven community/customer advocate
  • Have advancement interest with desire for both professional and personal development
  • Have a well-developed "team oriented" business perspective, bring a positive attitude to the team and job each day
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willing to work weekends, holidays and nights
