The Production Section Manager position is responsible for managing of one or more specific manufacturing areas. The Production Section Manager, is accountable for meeting production schedules and all production metrics (Moves, Turn Rate, Cycle Time, Daily Outs) and ensuring quality of all product produced in-line in their area. The Production Section Manager should establish a positive workforce environment through regular communications and should manage by walking around and provide leadership to BU employees.
You can provide leadership of cross-functional teams
You can coordinate all shift activity with responsibility across the functional area
You can plan and schedule work assignments based upon available personnel, workload, priorities, and materials on hand
You can initiate requisitions to obtain materials, tools, supplies and services necessary to schedule and produce all requirements
You can ensure quality and quantity of line output and compliance with established procedures and safety requirements. Counsel subordinates in the proper application of operation procedures
You can implement cross-training plan to ensure continuous operations
You can implement cost reduction solutions to maximize use of manpower, equipment, material, and space
You can identify and implement solutions to problems and report current production status to management
You can propose methods to solve fabrication, process, test or repair problems
You can develop and implement solutions for emerging manufacturing related issues
You can interview and train bargaining unit employees, including screening interviews and reviewing resumes
You can main shift liaison between Quality, Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Production Control, Purchasing, and other departments
You can administer Steps 1 and 2 of the Company/Union Grievance Procedure and serve as prime interface with the Union Steward for that action
You can maintain control charts that demonstrate performance of the supervised area
You can ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures related to Standards of Business Conduct/Conflict of Interest.Train and motivate subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures
You can maintain and train on 5S+ Standards
You can enforce Fab Protocol
Four year degree in a related field required OR a completed AA degree with Fab Operator experience. Industrial Engineering degree and experience in a semiconductor industry is preferred.
