Provides advanced level preparation of the patient for Ophthalmic Tests, evaluation, treatment or education-ensuring quality patient services.



Education/Experience:

The incumbent will have either:

- Successfully completed certification as an Ophthalmic Technician by the Joint commission of Allied Health Personnel of Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) after the required work hours and credits earned at the COA level.

Or,

- Alternately, after completion of an accredited Technician program, incumbent has 1 year from date of employment to successfully complete certification.



Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:

* Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
* Detail oriented individual with strong human relations and organizational skills.
* Ongoing certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician.



JCAHPO certification at COA, COT, or COMT level required. Previous ophthalmology experience, retina experience preferred. This position will work between St. Louis Park and Burnsville locations.
