Aims Community College at a Glance:Job Duties:
Candidates are sought to form a hiring pool for part-time term positions in Air Traffic Control; teaching assignments may include a variety of courses depending on the candidate's area of expertise.
1. Provide academic instruction to students as assigned.
2. Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) procedures per Air Traffic-College Training Initiative (AT-CTI)requirements.
3.Assist with development of new courses and revise existing courses as required.
4. Represent the aviation department at conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Work Hours: Ability to teach days, nights, and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 10 years experience in anFAAAir Traffic Control Tower, Air Route Traffic Control Center, or Radar Approach Control.
2. Air Traffic Control instructional and/or supervisory experience.
3. Possess basic computer skills.
4. HoldFAA-Issued Certified Professional Controller Certificate.

In certain instances, due to low enrollment, instructors payment will be based on part-time per credit pay and pro-rated on a 10% per student basis.
Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay.
