Payroll Specialist II
Job Summary
An Albemarle Corporation Payroll Administrator is a process driven, strategic human resource business partner responsible for the preparation and processing of domestic and global biweekly and monthly payrollscomprised of multi-state, multi-jurisdiction employeess
Major Task, Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payrolls
Monitors service delivery queues for incoming payroll information daily
Enters and processes payrolls while under strict time constraints
Customer Experience
Communicates directly with customers providing exemplary customer service
Enters payroll and makes changes to company and employee payroll data as requested
Proactively troubleshoots and resolves employee payroll issues
Independently researches customer questions to provide solutions
Monitor imports to payroll system
Processes Domestic , Expatriate, Global, Stock and Relocation Payrolls
Nature of Scope
Attentive to detail and accuracy, committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, displays initiatives to help wherever necessary to ensure the department reaches its goal.
Prioritizes task and demonstrates excellent time management skills
Has a proven understanding of pre and post -tax deductions, garnishments, 401K, and pensions
Conforms to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the employee handbook.
Performs additional duties as requested.
Education and Experience
Typically requires an Associate degree in accounting, business administration or finance
3-5 years of payroll processing experience
Excellent customer service skills
High-level efficiency with Microsoft Office, emphasis on v-look-ups and creating formulas for data manipulation
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to work with little supervision
The payroll administrator completes day-to-day payroll operations and collaborates with third-party vendors to insure superior payroll execution, smooth end of year employee tax records transactions, and complies with strong financial controls while adhering to all applicable policies and laws.
Candidate must be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills with the ability to collaborate and function well in a team environment
