Job Description
BMT is seeking a Business Development/Marketing Analyst (BD/MA) to join a growing international engineering and environmental business development team.  BD/MA will work directly with technical managers, business development team and operating unit (OU) senior leadership team (SLT) to submit winning proposals to expand business foot print in US. Applicants must have US federal government contract industry proposal and marketing experience and looking for an opportunity to learn and understand business development and capture principles and processes, and develop interpersonal and leadership skills in a growing global organization.  Role and responsibilities include:
  • Work with business, technical and BD team to develop proposal narratives, project descriptions and reports, prepare resumes for proposals, draft press releases and internal communications, assist with white papers and other corporate documents and deliverables that conform to established corporate brand standards
  • Review and edit documents to ensure the message is consistent in voice and content and is formatted, cross-referenced and footnoted, to appeal to and capture our target audience
  • Review RFP and solicitation documentation and prepare checklists, templates, and other documents to facilitate understanding of proposal requirements and schedules 
  • Coordinate proposal efforts to include market research, prepare and submit past proposal questionnaires, and prepare key personnel resumes
  • Participate in BD pipeline review meetings and assist with management of OU Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software tool
  • Conduct market research and share knowledge of data and trends to assist OU SLT in the analysis and development of business opportunity capture strategy and implementation plans
  • Improve and maintain marketing library
  • Develop and maintain content on corporate website to promote OU social media and marketing initiatives
Travel: up to 25% (domestic & international)

Work Location: Arlington, VA.

Applicant must be a US citizen.  Ability to qualify for and obtain a Government security clearance is required.  Company will not sponsor a work visa for this position. Only applicants residing in Washington DC metro area will be considered for this position.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-4 years’ experience writing, editing and coordinating US federal government proposals required. Experience working on DOD proposal submissions desirable
  • Engineering and/or environmental engineering marketing, BD experience helpful
  • 2 years’ experience developing or maintaining content for websites and social media
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to work with internal and external international teams and clients
  • Capable and strong analytical and market research skills
  • Must have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills as well as good presentation skills
  • Must have good organizational skills with attention to details and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Must have excellent computer skills and advance knowledge of MS Office Suite. Adobe Creative Suite or similar desktop publishing desirable
  • Must have good problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be willing to work flexible/variable hours to meet project deadlines
  • Must be willing to travel to conferences and seminars
  • Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality, ethics and professionalism
  • Confident, action-oriented, self-starter with a sense of integrity and actively seeks individual professional growth and development opportunities
