The Maintenance Mechanic/Journeyman (Mechanical Maintenance, Pipefitter or Millwright) performs skilled maintenance repair, troubleshooting and installation of equipment and possesses knowledge of a variety of equipment and tasks associated with a paper manufacturing facility in Rhinelander, WI.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid journeyman card, indicating successful completion of an accredited apprenticeship program in mechanical maintenance, millwright, pipefitter or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work competently on common paper mill equipment
  • Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime
  • Respond to emergency call-ins (in accordance with the labor contract)

Responsibilities

  • Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work assignments in order to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Utilization of maintenance strategies including preventative and predictive maintenance.
