The Business Developer is responsible for managing an ongoing log of prospective clients and potential new market introductions. This position develops and maintains strong relationships with prospective clients and works closely with firm VP's and Directors as well as existing and past clients to assess client environment, culture, and technical needs. Communicates and coordinates activities with departments and internal leadership to successfully advance new and existing client relationships. Serves as a subject matter expert in assigned markets and performs necessary research to stay current.This position is responsible for growing architectural and engineering services in LDG's new Phoenix office. A successful candidate will bring new client and market opportunities to the firm consistent with both the business and strategic plans; will be responsible for overseeing management of projects, communications, personnel management, business development, and client communication & relationships. This position will assist in preparing and implementing annual business goals and multi-year strategic business plans for services within the office. Collaborates with COO, Vice Presidents, and Directors to ensure growth plans are efficiently and effectively executed.Performs prospecting activities such as cold calls, researching contractor reports, responding to RFP's, and legal notices to develop leads and opportunities.Visits clients and targets to develop relationships and gather intelligence, understand competitors, and make recommendations to seller/doers.Attends networking events such as trade shows, chamber events, mixers, economic development meetings, and other related events.Coordinates strategic client visits and prospecting meetings with senior staff and managers to build rapport and secure. opportunities, looking for ways to position and distinguish firm from competitors.Tracks and reports business development activities in Deltek Vision CRM and communicates these with technical staff. Develops high proficiency level in CRM (leads, contacts, and reports) and actively supports other CRM users.Actively participates in discussions with team leaders to qualify leads early in the sales process to determine those most promising.Supports communication and coordination among business development, internal marketing, and technical staffs.Updates department leads on leads, contacts, centers of influence, and market opportunities that will help position the firm for current and future work.
Requirements
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Sales, Architecture/Engineering, or related field. Ten (10)+ years related work experience. Registered Architect, Licensed Engineer, or Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) preferred. Larson Design Group is an Affirmative Action/EEO employer.
