Job Description

Vitro Automotive Glass is looking for several entry level production packers/inspectors, as our business continues to grow. We are looking for new employees that can show up to work and become an integrated member of our dynamic team. Openings: Night Shifts from 6:45pm - 7am (3 - 4 days a week)

Day Shift from 6:45am - 7pm (3 - 4 days a week)

Schedule: Our shifts run 12 hours. You work three days one week, four days the next and it continues that pattern all year. You will know your schedule for the entire year. Must be available to work mandatory OT if no volunteers are available.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for Entry Level Packers or Inspectors who are interested in working in a manufacturing environment and who are looking for a place where they can stay, learn, and grow. Our packer/inspectors perform important work in the different areas and lines they support. With safety as our number one priority, quality is our second. Having a keen eye for details is important in this role as you will likely be inspecting the glass per the customer specifications. Pace of work is also important as we do have production targets that are designed to help us get better every day.

The work typically involves:

  • Inspecting glass for any defects or visual items such as surface, edgework, and size for proper specifications.
  • Packing glass according to packaging guidelines.
  • Rework glass, if necessary.
  • Plan for and address daily production needs.
  • Collect data throughout the shift.
  • Keeping general work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Performing miscellaneous and related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must have 1 year of work history or a high school diploma/GED
  • Preferred candidates will have a stable work history
  • Requires ability to interpret customer specifications and do basic math
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, as needed
  • Must be able to work day/night shift hours
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
