Job Description
Job Summary:
SEA CORP has an immediate opening for an Engineering Technician with a solid background of Submarine Imaging systems from an ‘end-to-end’ perspective.

Responsibilities:
Job duties include, but are not limited to, Submarine Imaging system testing and fault isolation, as well as troubleshooting of the system to the Lowest Repairable Unit (LRU).  The ideal candidate will be expected to familiarize themselves with all hardware including understanding commonality between various systems.  The incumbent should be able to meet the following position requirements:
  • Knowledgeable in Submarine Periscopes and Imaging Engineering ISEA support for all Periscope types and Imaging systems to ensure Fleet readiness
  • Provide technical recommendations to Periscopes and Imaging Hotline issues as well as ad hoc fleet requests as required
  • Able to review for accuracy, and support development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs) and Deviations in order to upgrade existing Periscope and Imaging Systems
  • Attend Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), working groups, and design reviews as required to support modernization, production, and/or procurement
  • Capable of becoming the “go-to” person for all legacy and current Periscope and Imaging programs including analyzing various design/technical documents (including drawings) for accuracy and completion, ensuring products are meeting specifications
  • Support Imaging ISEA FRACAS data collection, performance analysis, and reporting as required, including updating and maintaining the Imaging Failure Tracking and Asset Management System (IFTAMS)
  • Track parts required and used in upgrading and modernizing Imaging Systems and components while maintaining a list of parts required for procurement and tracking their requisition and receipt
Communicate with Sponsor and local NUWC personnel. Ability to take direction, be organized and work independently.

Education and Qualifications:
Applicant must have a background in electronics and be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products including scheduling.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and wiring tables are a must.  Individual should be able to work in a fast paced environment.

US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD clearance is required.
