Job Description
SEA CORP is looking for former or transitioning Naval Submariners familiar with the SWFTS operational use/CONOPS to fill Systems Engineer and Systems Integrator positions in Manassas, VA.

Systems Engineering Associates Corporation (SEA CORP) is a veteran-owned business, based in Middletown, Rhode Island. Founded in 1981, we have been providing services to the Navy for over 35 years.  Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the U.S. Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.

Job Summary:
These positions are responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and tracking of hardware and software in the integration facility.  Successful candidates will be able to provide knowledge, guidance, and support to the team; understand requirements from Systems Engineers and impacts to system operation; have an understanding of the subsystems design plan/approach; and able to assist SWFTS SE&I in understanding testing needs, software build delivery plans, and problem investigation needs.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Troubleshooting system-level and inter-subsystem problems
  • Support of test events, determining root cause of interface problems and document software deficiencies/bug reports.
  • Technical lab support
  • COATS, Dockside and At-Sea (future) support for the fleet
  • Performance/execution of operator or operational-based testing
  • Troubleshooting issues found with subsystem software applications
  • Using Subsystem or network monitoring tools
Education and Qualifications:
The successful candidates would have US Naval submarine experience in some of the following positions: Fire Control Technician (FT), Sonar Technician Submarine (STS), Information Systems Technician (ITS), Electronics Technician - Comms (ETR), Electronics Technician - Nav (ETV)  with a full understanding of US Navy Submarine Combat Systems (BYG-1, SONAR, IMAGING, etc.) preferred.
  • In lieu of military experience, a Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field and a minimum of two year’s professional experience working with submarines is required.
Candidates should be able to perform as self-starters, work with minimal supervision and oversight when necessary, and be willing to work off-shift at times to support deadlines. These positions require travel to a variety of off-site test events, 6 – 10 times annually.

U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance is required.
