Job Description
SEA CORP is looking for qualified applicants to fill two full-time positions.  We are seeking former Torpedoman for upcoming work in the Newport, RI area.

Systems Engineering Associates Corporation (SEA CORP) is a veteran-owned business, based in Middletown, Rhode Island. Founded in 1981, we have been providing services to the Navy for over 35 years.  Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the U.S. Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.

We have enjoyed steady, planned growth for over three decades, and have grown to over 400 people, with operations in multiple states.  Our strength lies in our highly trained and professional staff, who consistently exceed customer expectations. 

Job Summary:
Candidates will provide In-Service Engineering support for Submarine Combat Systems and Vertical Launch Systems, offer fleet support for problems and corrective action via distant support, and potentially travel to platforms to provide onsite support. Candidates must be familiar with different variants of the combat system and the hardware associated with all VLS capable submarines. The selected candidates must be good troubleshooters and be able to solve difficult problems real time.

Additional roles and responsibilities include:
  • Working with NUWC leads to review reported fleet problems
  • Investigating failures and determine root-causes
  • Providing distant support and troubleshooting procedures for deployed platforms
  • Identifying temporary workarounds for problems while long term solutions are analyzed
  • Understanding risk associated with all reported failures
  • Writing clear and concise problem reports
  • Attending meetings as applicable and providing necessary verbal communication
Education and Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Field with minimum two year’s professional experience working with submarines is required.  In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, qualified incumbents will have former military experience with US Navy Submarine Combat Systems (FT, STS, ITS, ETR, ETV) and Submarine Combat Systems (BYG-1, SONAR, IMAGING, etc.).
U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance is required.
