SEA CORP has immediate full-time openings for former Fire Control Technicians to provide support for new weapons and weapon systems in Newport, RI. In these positions, candidates will provide integration and test support for all horizontal and vertical weapons on all submarine classes.

Job Summary: Candidates will provide hardware, software, and system-level integration test and evaluation support for all current and future strike systems in land-based facilities, aboard naval vessels, and shore sites. Selected candidates must have efficient and effective troubleshooting skills and be able to solve difficult problems in real time. Candidates must have good communication skills and the ability to work well in an integrated team environment.
Additional roles and responsibilities include:
Working with NUWC leads to review system designs and provide recommendations for implementation
Investigating and analyzing failures to determine root-causes
Providing lab test support and troubleshooting problems
Identifying temporary workarounds for problems while long term solutions are analyzed
Understanding risk associated with all reported failures
Writing clear and concise problem reports
Attending meetings as applicable and provide necessary verbal communication
Education and Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Field with minimum two year’s professional experience working with submarines is required. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, qualified incumbents will have former military experience with US Navy Submarine Combat Systems (FT, STS, ITS, ETR, ETV) and Submarine Combat Systems (BYG-1, SONAR, IMAGING, etc.).
U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance is required.
