ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- Performs as a licensed care giver, assuming responsibility and accountability for assigned residents, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern a long term care facility.
- Provides nursing care through coordination, implementation and evaluation of the resident’s plan of care.
- Adheres to the standards of care for the area, manages the environment to maintain resident safety, and supervises the resident care activities performed by nursing assistants.
- Adheres to Nurse Practice Act.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity and compliance with Nurse Practice Act.
- Graduate of a NLN approved school for professional nursing.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Nurse in Massachusetts.
- CPR certified.
- One year experience as professional nurse within last 3 years or completion of a refresher course in past year.
- Demonstrated skill in physical assessment.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to post-acute care.
- IV Therapy Skills desirable.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department and that are necessary for providing quality care.
