Job Description
SEA CORP is accepting applications for part-time, entry level Logisticians to work on its Systems Engineering team.  Logisticians play a critical role supporting our defense-related customers.

Systems Engineering Associates Corporation (SEA CORP) is a veteran-owned business, based in Middletown, Rhode Island. Founded in 1981, we have been providing services to the Navy for over 35 years.  Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the U.S. Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.

We have enjoyed steady, planned growth for over three decades, and have grown to over 400 people, with operations in multiple states.  Our strength lies in our highly trained and professional staff, who consistently exceed customer expectations.

Job Summary:
The Logistician traditionally will support a wide variety of tasks, including manipulating and analyzing data, and will ultimately transition into one or more areas of specialization as experience, skills and interests mature.
The Logistician works independently and as part of a team to accomplish a variety of analyses and tasks, including but not limited to reviewing and analyzing Allowance Part Lists (APL), analyzing supply, maintenance, and repair codes associated with the APL, and assisting with provisioning and supply support strategies. Further responsibilities include conducting level of repair analyses, identifying inventory levels, and developing lifecycle projections based on the current and future use of equipment, current failure data, and likelihood of future failure.  The Logistician will often participate in the identification of obsolete equipment and potential replacement candidate(s).
The majority of deliverables are completed in Microsoft Office format (primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). The candidate must be able to multitask, be receptive of feedback, and be organized.

Education and Experience:
A High School/GED or Vocational School Diploma is required; Associates or bachelor’s degrees preferred.  Individuals who have completed or who are currently enrolled in traditional business programs, including logistics, supply chain, accounting, finance, and statistics, or who have had coursework/internships that required extensive spreadsheet work in Excel, are preferred.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and very computer savvy, as well as possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience using Microsoft Project and Visio are a plus.
While direct experience in or supporting the United States Navy’s submarine force is not a requirement, having an interest in this activity is an important piece of the role since the work performed by the Logistician has a direct impact on the fleet.

U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance are required.
