Position:              CCTV Operator/Foreman
Location:             Tucker, GA and Gastonia, NC
# Supervised:    2-3
Reports to:         District Manager
 
POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing CCTV and cleaning of sanitary and storm sewer facilities. The operator must be able to work with and supervise 2-3 employees, supplement cured-in-place pipe crews and projects, and be able to work safely. Other duties may include but are not limited to:
 
 
  • Confined space entry
  • Use of heavy equipment and hand tools
  • Equipment driving and operation
  • Entry into manhole and underground structures
  • Prep work for cured-in-place crew such as CCTV/cleaning, bypass setup/monitoring, site work, etc.
  • Completion of required paperwork on a daily basis
 
The Operator position requires good work ethic and the ability to understand and follow directions.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  1. Must have one to two years of experience as a CCTV van and jet truck operator in construction projects (public/industrial utilities)
  2. Must assist in cured-in-place pipe lining activities/projects, directly or indirectly
  3. Must be PACP certified
  4. Must operate CCTV van as required in cleaning, CCTV, and rehabilitation techniques
  5. Must assist in training peers
  6. Must work in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  7. Must take and be able to understand instructions from the Branch Manager/project manager
  8. Must accept responsibility for company property and equipment;
  9. Must maintain and operate that equipment in a clean, safe and mechanically sound condition
  10. Must accurately and legibly complete all required paperwork which may include, but not be limited to: time sheets, maintenance records, travel logs, DOT paperwork, ISO documentation, etc.
  11. Must possess a positive attitude and be able to work with a field team
 
 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
 
  1. Must understand and speak fluent English
  2. Must have specific knowledge of CCTV van equipped with Cues hardware and Granite software, jet truck/combo equipment and operations
  3. Must be able to understand and follow instructions in the performance of the required tasks in conformance with the Company’s policies and procedures
  4. Must possess a CDL within 90 days of employment; Must also possess a driving record consistent with the Company’s requirements
  5. Must maintain required certifications
    1. Safety certifications may include Confined Space, Competent Person, 10 and/or 30 OSHA, those related to traffic control, as required, etc.
    2. Job related certifications may include PACP, etc.
  6. Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and adhere to Company’s policy regarding such
  7. Must work in a manner that will not jeopardize the health and safety of him/herself, other employees or the general public
 
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
 
  1. Must be able to travel and be out of town for extended periods of time
  2. A good understanding of the cured-in-place pipe technology is highly recommended
  3. Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and utilize necessary safety devices
  4. Must be able to stand much of the day and walk on uneven ground
  5. Must be able to use proper lifting technique to periodically lift a minimum of 50 pounds and carry it for a minimum of 50 feet; Must be able to periodically direct lift up to 100 pounds
  6. Must be able to use proper lifting technique to periodically lift 20 to 40 pounds overhead
  7. Must be able to enter and exit structures (manholes, vaults, etc.) leading to underground pipelines and safely work within these confined spaces in accordance with applicable Federal, State and Company safety guidelines
  8. Must be able to work in elevated situations; Must be able to ascend and descend a minimum 25’ ladder
  9. Must be able to bend and turn at the waist as well as squat and kneel
  10. Must be able to complete a pulling action similar to pulling heavy rope from a hole in the ground.
  11. Must be able to walk and drag material (hose)
  12. Must be able to safely utilize cutting devices including hand saws and razor knives
  13. Must be able to install pipe plugs on sanitary, storm and process pipelines in potentially wet environments
  14. Must be able to drive a heavy truck for minimally one to two hours each day
  15. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc)
  16. Must be able to work overtime when required
