Wage Range: $123,073 - $196,934 per year

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Job Summary:
Responsible for oversight and management of the Biomedical Engineering department. Directs department operations and leads Biomedical Engineering staff. Oversees all aspects related to the selection, contracts, installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment to ensure quality patient care. Serves as a liaison between Biomedical Engineering and other departments. Supports the biomedical equipment needs of EvergreenHealth by developing department goals and objectives which will enhance current services and increase the biomedical services that are available.
Primary Duties:
  1. Contribute to the development of a strategic plan for Biomedical Engineering services. Increase organizational awareness of biomedical engineering services and the operational efficiencies and financial benefits of using internal biomedical engineering services.
  2. Determine proper staffing levels to provide equipment support services across EvergreenHealth (EH) supported sites. Assign technicians to sites based on preventive and corrective maintenance workloads.
  3. Review staff productivity and efficiency data. Identify areas where improvements can be made to maximize staffing resources.
  4. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluation, corrective action, and termination of staff.
  5. Meet with department leaders to review completed biomedical services, current needs, quality assurance concerns, and future biomedical service needs, including scheduled maintenance of equipment and new equipment needs.,
  6. Work with department leaders and biomedical engineers on projects related to new equipment. Manage all aspects of the project, including contract negotiation, equipment installation, training, ongoing vendor support, and removal of unnecessary equipment. Develops project plan and provides status update reports by project phase and date.
  7. Determine training needs for staff technicians and engineers. Make arrangements to obtain necessary training, test equipment, and tools needed for training to occur to expand the areas of technical services provided by the department.
  8. Ensure that work requests from equipment users are responded to within established timeframes.
  9. Participate in development of departmental and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  10. Understand and comply with Joint Commission or other regulatory bodies and other applicable standards and regulations.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIREDfor the position:
    • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Clinical Engineering or equivalent combination of education or experience
    • 6 years of experience in the biomedical engineering service industry
    • Leadership or supervisory experience
    • Project management experience
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and facilitate multidisciplinary groups.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
DESIREDfor the position:
    • Masters degree
    • Project management (PMP) certification
