HDR is looking for a Construction EIT / Construction Coordinator to join our Transportation Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) team in South Carolina. In the role of Construction EIT / Construction Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Work individually and within a group of inspectors to verify construction activities to comply with plans and specifications.
  • Utilize good communication skills and problem resolution skills in daily interaction with the contractor.
  • Obtain SCDOT certifications that will allow the EIT / Coordinator to perform various material testing and sampling duties as needed (asphalt, concrete, and foundations).
  • Be organized in order to generate and maintain project documentation such as letters, testing reports, and daily diaries.
  • Conduct reviews and verifications of construction schedules and assist in the preparation of cost estimates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT required or the ability to attain within 6 months; candidates without their EIT designation will be hired as a 'Construction Coordinator'
  • Entry-level new graduates will be considered
  • Minimum of 1 year of construction engineering or inspection experience on SCDOT projects highly preferred
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • SCDOT Inspector Certifications or ability to pass SCDOT Inspector Certification classes as assigned
  • Local candidates are preferred

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
    • Knowledge of MS Office, Primavera, Scheduling Software, spreadsheets and databases
    • Interest and/or experience in the construction field
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
